I believe in divine appointments. God intertwines lives and cares about people! He loves each one of us special and pays attention to the details. God caused Mandy and my path to cross at the very first Allume conference (it was called Relevant then). We connected and hadn’t really corresponded much after that for a few years.
Networking can seem daunting and unfruitful until it’s God’s time for a relationship to blossom.
I started blogging in 2009. I’ve always had a passion for graphic design. I went to school to be an administrative assistant, and even pursued nursing (my life long passion) but have a special knack for putting colors and fonts together to make it appealing to the eye. Whenever I see an advertisement or a commercial on television, my mind immediately is drawn to how the colors and font are presented. My mind goes to work, laying out font sizing, coloring, text, and images until everything looks balanced and appealing. I love it!
With blogging, came the opportunity to play around with coding and colors and all sorts of graphic wonderfulness! I dabbled with graphic design, dabbled some more, and gradually taught myself how to do some minor coding and graphics work for other people’s websites.
Fast forward to a year or so ago when Mandy and I reconnected on Facebook. She was looking for help with the design aspects of some of the sites she was building, and I was looking for work to do! God merged our lives into a beautiful partnership that has been flourishing ever since!
Mandy is not only my boss, but a dear friend! She and I are a dynamic duo. We are professional, we love people, and we are passionate about our jobs. We truly love what we do.
So how does our partnership work?
If you are thinking about a redesign or a complete new website build, here is a concise version of what Mandy and I can offer you. Mandy does the programming, and I work with you on the design elements.
We kindly ask for a 50% down payment. This will allow you to lock in your spot with us. We will give you an estimate of how long the job will take to complete. This all depends on how busy our schedules are and how big of a job your site build/design will be.
What’s the next step?
After we receive your down payment, I typically start connecting with you via phone or email. We will chat about colors, fonts, and how you want the overall look and feel of your site to have. I will walk you through the process and counsel you towards your vision.
I truly believe God has gifted me in this area to be able to discern what you are envisioning and helping you bring it to fruition.
I will work with you to create your site header first. Once you love it, I’ll help you create all of your other elements to match (blog button, signature, etc). I will then pass all of your color codes and design elements onto the amazing Mandy!
I will also document any site links such as social network sites, hosting information and whatever else is necessary to make the process as smooth as possible once Mandy takes over.
Mandy’s job is next.
Once Mandy is ready, she will take all of your information that I’ve documented and weave it together into a beautiful site build! Here’s how it all works together in simple terms:
The actual WordPress website is like an engine of a car. Genesis (the framework) is the frame and body of the car (basic design, security, and SEO foundation for you site). A child theme is the pure design element that rests on top of your framework. You can also look at it as building a house. Mandy’s job is the structural elements, and I come in and help you decorate and help make sure your home is balanced, beautiful and organized for company!
Completing your site.
Once everything has been put into place and all the details are squared away, Mandy will make the site go live! We require the remaining 50% of your payment at the end.
We would love to help you!
Have you been thinking about a site transfer from Blogger to WordPress, without all the headaches and hassle? Maybe you just want to spruce up the current WordPress site you already have? We would love to work with you to help make the process smooth and enjoyable!
Like Traci said, I too believe in divine appointments. I know for certain that Traci is one of the connections God very purposefully placed in my path years ago to enable me to do what I do now. Traci’s creativity complements my technical know-how and helps make this process smooth and simple for even the newest blogger. What she didn’t mention is that she is also fantastic with images for blog posts and social media promotions (Pinterest, Facebook, and Mad Mimi Drip Campaigns). Be sure to check out some of her work!
