Hello. I’m Melissa: I like to have FUN! Some people say that I have the humor of a 3rd grader, but to me life is too short and hard to let everything weigh you down.
I try to seek the JOY on the journey no matter what is going on. My “why I exist statement is”…I exist to encourage unseen people, talents and possibilities through connections. I seek fun and to influence people to rise up and kick butt! I am also a certified life breakthrough coach and use my ministry and life experience to help women in ministry pursue their dreams and break down barriers in their lives.
I’ve been blogging and around the bloggy world (that’s what the OG called it back in the day, lol) since 2006 and have enjoyed connecting with women from all over the world ever since then. Hearing their stories, celebrating their success and encouraging them to chase their dreams has always been a part of my DNA.
I’m a woman who is passionately pursuing God every day by taking her everyday, ordinary life and placing it as an offering to Him. Daughter of the King, wife, mom, writer, speaker, and Pastor’s wife. I’m married to Matt, my best friend in the world, for 20 years and have two very handsome adult sons, a beautiful daughter-in-law and 3 grand fur-kitties.
As someone who has spent the last 17 years in full time ministry, I’ve worked within and in partnership with the local church. There were also a few seasons where I worked with several Christian artists/speakers, led mission trips with Compassion International, lead breakouts and main stage sessions at conferences as well as co-authored a women’s leadership devotional. Some of my favorite memories have been connecting with real people who are passionate about their faith and championing the vision that God has laid on their hearts.
I’m a Connector, Encourager, Cheerleader for our authors, speakers and those who are building their brand. Helping them to find their tribe as they share their message is a life long dream of mine and I am thrilled to be able to do that with MRM.
When I am not running around wearing the many hats that God has given me I like to sit in my favorite comfy chair in our Quiet Room and relax with a great book (or two) and thank Him for this beautiful crazy life I lead.
Her Recent Projects
I’m currently working on publicity package for Catherine Bird as well as connecting some new author speakers to the MRM brand. The projects I thrive on are:
- Connecting authors and speakers to others in their area of expertise to build community, connection and cohesion so that it is a win-win for everyone.
- Cheerleading, encouraging and caring for those who are influencing others with their message of hope.
- Helping them find where their voice carries the loudest and clearest while being authentic and true to who they are as a communicator.
Her Education & Training
My background is in Marketing with a vast experience in English (I love words as well as making up words). While in ministry at the local church I spent a lot of time in Communications/Branding/Marketing and series development. It was my job to make sure that everything was saying what it was supposed to be saying — every print piece, social media post, message notes, and decor when you walked into the building. It all needed to be clear, concise and exactly what our church stood for, because honestly…everything speaks.
I have extensive training and conferences in Communications, Marketing and Guest Experience. I have spoken at women’s conferences both online and in real life, I’ve been blessed to lead breakout sessions, MC’d events, tv commercials, radio shows, podcasts, been printed in several magazines (both online and print), and co-authored a women’s daily leadership devotional. All of these opportunities have given me the experience to help other women achieve their goals and dreams.
